The Retro-Inspired C5 Corvette

"OUR THEME WITH THE BUILD IS UNITY BECAUSE WE'RE UNIFYING THE AMERICAN CAR WITH JAPANESE STYLE. THE LIVERY IS INSPIRED BY THE SPIRIT OF '76 CAR THAT RAN IN LE MANS."
- ROBB FERGUSON, C5 Corvette Owner

Robb Ferguson's stunning Corvette is a true testament to his passion for automotive history and artistic vision. Combining the first-ever Pandem C5 bodykit and a meticulously-crafted livery that pays tribute to the legendary Spirit of '76 Le Mans Corvette—this retro-inspired build captures the very essence of automotive history.

"To keep with the unity theme, the driver side of the car has the American flag waving up the side of it, and the passenger side has the Japanese flag waving up the side of it—because that’s where the kit comes from and where a lot of these car parts come from."

"It’s nice how these gauges set up really well. If you’re running a motor-swapped car or transmission-swapped car and have problems with the speed sensor for the speedometer, you can choose a GPS speedometer, so it’s very useful."

"I went with Speedhut Triples on this car because I wanted to minimize the amount of gauges and keep it simple. With the two big gauges, I wanted to pack as much in there as possible."

"Inside the car I have another setup that’s heavily retro-inspired: Bride Histrix carbon-backed leather seats, Coco mats to make the car look vintage and feel good, and a Retro Sound radio. It’s good quality stuff."

"For my whole life I’ve liked cars, and the cars that always got my attention when I was younger were anything that had something going up the side of it, like flames or a flag. I would notice it right away. But the biggest things I’d always notice were cars that were loud, cars that were low, and cars that had anything sticking out of the hood.

I knew that I wanted to keep the car naturally aspirated, so I found this company called Redux Racing that makes this bolt-on kit. That’s what I went with on my car, and I cut out a clean little opening so you can see that the car is V8 naturally aspirated."

"Rocket Bunny made the kit as wide as possible, as angular as possible. The front goes down really low, but in order to make everything else work out, I wanted to make sure I could adjust my height, so I installed an Airtech air bag system. They make a bolt-on kit for the C5 and C6."
